It may happen before this article posts, but I think it’s safe to say that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may provide some relief for 401(k) participants as it pertains to hardship distributions and plans loans.
Why? The Coronavirus is a national disaster that is probably had the most negative impact on this country since World War II. I expect the IRS to issue some relief so that participants can get hardship distributions, as well as some loan payment relief.
