The Problem with PEPs

It’s interesting to note that we are less than six months before the allowance of Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs), yet the Department of Labor (DOL) is just now asking for comments concerning some of the prohibited transaction rules regarding the role of a pooled employer plan provider and some of the concerns that might arise.

 

With the SECURE Act requiring registration of pooled employer providers and knowing many multiple employer plans wishing to switch to pooled employer plans and knowing many providers who want PEPs off the ground, I’d wish the government would act a little quicker.
