I am in the midst of a serious dispute with a third-party administrator (TPA), let us just say it’s Defcon 1. The dispute surrounded excessive deconversion fees and the TPA’s belief they were entitled to charge extra for a Form 5500 and valuation to be completed after the year-end.
One of the disputes is that while I decided to bring this matter to third parties for review, the TPA complained that I was unwilling to compromise. The problem is that like some people, they believe that compromise just really means that the other side must give in completely.
Life is a game of give and take, compromise requires you to give something up to get something back.
