After The Marvels imploded at the box office and cost Disney into the hundreds of millions, it was wise for Bob Iger to announce they were cutting back on the amount of movies and television shows they were releasing for Marvel.
3-4 movies and a handful of shows on Disney+ are a bit much for most filmgoers, and Disney ran the risk of killing their golden goose. The writers and actors strikes helped delay things, but a slowdown in production was needed.
The trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine looks like magic and with a lack of potential box office hits, I think this will be the big hit that both Disney and Marvel need.
