Employees aren’t confident in their retirement savings

In a result that should surprise no one, just 43% of employees say they feel highly confident they’re on track to save what they need in retirement, according to a new survey by LiveCareer.

For the 42%, a good chunk of them might be fooling themselves. The fact is that with such a huge tax burden in life, it’s hard to save for retirement. Even someone like me, I know I probably don’t have enough since a good chunk of my retirement savings was used to rebuild my house after Hurricane Sandy.

61% in the survey said they fear retirement more than death or the idea of getting a divorce (64%). All I can say is we have a job to do.
