The Fabelmans is excellent

I want to say that the first Spielberg movie I ever saw in the theater was Raiders of the Lost Ark. I have been a fan ever since. Jaws, E.T., Schindler’s List, and West Side Story, are just some of his greatest hits.

Steven Spielberg’s latest, The Fablemans, a semi-autobiographical take is excellent. I bought in on Amazon Prime for $25, instead of plucking down $60 for 4 tickets and food at the local AMC. I know a little about the Spielberg family and his mom, Leah, and the painful divorce with his father, Arnold.

Short on plot, but heavy on memories and emotion, it really hits you inside. We have all had family trauma and dysfunction and we know the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Expect some heavy Oscar consideration for Michele Williams.
